ABOUT US
Our Speciality
Malabari cuisine
A lovechild of the Arab and North Kerala
Whole spices are essential to Malabari cuisine, especially in the moplah region. And that’s what distinguishes this custom. Garlic, ginger, and chilies provide the heat. Warmth is added by the bite from the elaichi and cloves, as well as the cinnamon. It is a kintsugi of Malayalee and Arab cuisine, combining to create something wholly unique.
The breads (Kannam pathiri, ari pathiri, chattipathiri, mutta surkka, adukkoroti, kakkaroti) are its mainstay, although the “special occasion meals” (biriyani, neychor, thenga chor, erachi chor) are primarily made with rice. The majority of these foods then complement sulaimani combining the two people’s love of tea to create “mohabbath in a glass.”
A French abode
Nestled between the city and the sea
A charming house tucked away near the Kozhikode beach, French Loge was constructed by the French settlers in India. Due to its proximity to the coast and vibrant town life, Moonalungal was the ideal spot to set up a home. Moonalungal in Malayalam means “three banyan trees”, in reference to the trees that triangulate this area.
French Loge sits right in the middle, with its sprawling verandah and expansive thalam. Be one with nature and history as you spend your days languishing by the beach, feasting on Faiza Moosa’s wizardry in the kitchen!
